instability

It has to be the single most deadly curse that plagues the human mind. i pride myself on not being a victim to it. whenever i see someone who is though, it makes me pity and dislike them.

People lack the ability to decide. if they do decide, the lack the ability to commit to their decision. can you imagine how surprised i was when i read about the concept of "escalation of commitment". this concept explains how people tend to keep taking consecutive actions after a decision only because they do not want to accept that their decision was bad. there is a concept and YET people do not follow it?

my advice to such people; people are not slaves to your routines and fluctuating mind-sets. decide, accept your decision and act upon it. if not, then let other people decide and follow. stability of mind and of action is truly what makes a person different from an animal who follows a deadly inference until it becomes its end. it even opens up the avenue towards being a "good person".

it is easy to be wrong and to justify it by claiming an understanding and "outlook" on things that is not common or understandable. it is wise to question oneself and accept what is wrong in ones actions. either the actions stop, or this blatant display of rightesousness stops.
